Greetings from Chase Brook Farm!  My husband and I are proud to bring our meats to you each week at the St. Paul Farmers’ Market. 

Both of us grew up in Ohio in non-farm backgrounds called suburbia.  I graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio with a BA in business management and marketing.  Jeff is a self taught software engineer and has done all the research regarding our farming practices, choosing a more humane treatment and a back-to-basics approach with the critters.

We made the move to the Midway area of St. Paul, Minnesota in 1992.  We were married in 1993, our son Jeremy was born in 1995 and Justin followed in 1998.  After living in the area for 8 years we grew tired of the “city life” and purchased our farm in Milaca.

We wanted to build an energy efficient dome home into the hill we lived on and basically plant trees….BUT instead we started raising animals to provide food for the family.  When we had friends and family over they would rave about how fabulous the meats were.  Soon we decided that since we had all the assets which came with the farm (120 acres, out buildings and the dairy barn) that we should give farming a try.  I knew that I didn’t want to go back to sitting at a desk, answering phones and dealing with grumpy customers, and this gives me the opportunity to sell directly to customers.     

It’s been a lot of hard work but we are teaching our kids how to be independent, work hard and have great customer service skills.  It has been a privilege to provide customers with quality meats that taste great!

You can find me at the following locations each week:  Falcon Heights from 7:30 AM – Noon on Tuesdays, Andover from 3 PM–6:30 PM on Tuesdays, Aldrich Arena from 8 AM – Noon on Wednesdays and at Hugo from 3 PM–6:30 PM on Thursdays.  For more information or directions to any of these markets please check out the location button on the website.  I look forward to meeting you!
